If you’re sporting the AMD version of the Surface Laptop 3, it’s time to check for some new firmware updates! Microsoft recently pushed out the March round of updates for your device, and it comes with some optimizations for battery life on versions of the laptop with Windows 11.
Released on March 17, there are five total updates that you should expect to see for download. Two will be listed as Surface Firmware, one shows up as Surface Extension, another as Surface Monitor. The last is Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. – Display – 26.20.12071.1002. Microsoft provides the following changelog for these updates.
- Improves system stability and addresses system bugcheck.
- Improves Graphics stability and performance while addressing system bugcheck.
- Enables Windows 11 feature to improve battery life.
- Improves support of Surface Dock 2.
Do keep in mind that Surface updates are released in stages, so you might not be seeing these right away. You’ll know it’s available for you when you see it in Windows Update.
