As part of the celebrations the Red Bull Wololo: Legacy tournament will be back this year from October 21-30 with competitions in Age of Empires: Definitive Edition, Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition, and Age of Empires IV. You can watch the tournament at twitch.tv/redbull. Also gamers will be able to play Age of Empires IV for free on Steam during the game’s Free Play Week running through Monday, August 29.

Age of Empires IV was featured at Gamescom 2022 Opening Night Live, with a trailer unveiling the free new update coming October 25th (note that you need the base game to play).

The Anniversary Update will introduce the two new titular civilizations, along with new maps, new Achievements and Masteries, and more. And before the Anniversary Update even arrives insiders can get access to new content with the next Public Update Preview, with a launch date to be announced.
