Earlier this morning, Acer unveiled at IFA 2017 a new portfolio of Windows 10 devices including a powerful Predator gaming desktop, new convertible PCs and more. The star of the show probably was the Predator Orion 9000 gaming PC, which has been designed to support 8K UHD content. Its specs are particularly impressive, with options for up to an Intel Core i9 Extreme Edition 18-core processor, up to 4-way AMD Radeon RX Vega graphics or two NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080Ti graphics in SLI, and up to 128 GB quad-channel DDR4 memory
On the inside, you’ll find Acer’s IceTunnel 2.0 liquid cooling technology, designed to keep the gaming beast cool in all circumstances. The Predator Orion 9000 is also highly customizable with three M.2 slots and four PCIe x16 slots, and an array of ports including two USB 3.1 Gen 2 ports (one Type-C and one Type-A), eight USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports (one Type-C and seven Type-A), and two USB 2.0 ports (Type-A). The gaming beast will be available in in EMEA in November with prices starting at €1,999, and in North America one month later starting at $1,999.
Next, the Taiwanese manufacturer announced three new Windows 10 PCs, starting with the Switch 7 Black Edition detachable. The premium device comes with a 13.5-inch display with with 2256×1504 resolution and a smart patented kickstand that can be auto-deployed and auto-retracted and an Embedded battery-free stylus. Inside, you’ll find an Intel 8th Gen Core i7 processor with NVIDIA GeForce MX150 graphics, as well as Acer’s iDual LiquidLoop technology fanless cooling system.
The Switch 7 Black Edition will be availble in North America and EMEA in December with prices starting at $1,699 and €1,999, respectively.
Also announced today, the Acer Swift 5 is a more conventional ultrabook with a slim 0.97 kg metal design that doesn’t sacrifice on battery life (up to 8 hours). Highlights include an Intel 8th Gen Core i7 processor, a Full HD IPS display and Dolby Audio Premium technology. The Swift 5 will also be available in North America and EMEA in December with prices starting at $999 and €1,099, respectively.
Lastly, Acer unveiled two Spin 5 convertible laptops with 13-inch and 15-inch touchscreens to use with an optional stylus. Both laptops comes with 8th Generation Intel Core processors, up to 16GB of DDR4 memory, up to 13-hours of battery life, with the addition of an optional NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 GPU for the 15-inch model.
Other highlights include front-facing speakers with Dolby Audio Premium technology and four array microphones for improved voice recognition.
