Acer Iconia W3 now up for pre-order, is the world’s first 8 inch Windows 8 tablet

For those interested, Staples and have the new Acer Iconia W3 tablet up for pre-order. The device will ship between June 15th and June 17th via Staples. Both retail outlets have the 32GB model for $379.99, while Amazon has the 64GB model for $429.99.

Acer revealed during Computex 2013 that the Iconia W3 would have an 8.1 inch display with 1280 x 800 resolution. The Iconia W3 also features 720p video playback and claims to have roughly eight hours of battery life. The tablet also features an Intel dual-core 1.8GHz Atom Z2760 processor, with the choice of 32GB storage or 64GB storage. You can always expand the storage with an additional 32GB via microSD.

“The Iconia W3 carefully considers the human element with a design that is compact enough to use comfortably in one hand for reading and web browsing, yet sports a screen large enough for both productivity and entertainment. As a result, it’s ideal for business people, students and families who already use programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote for school and work,” Acer stated in a press release.
