A revamp of the official Twitch app for Xbox One video game consoles has been in the pipeline for a while now but it looks as if it could finally be nearing launch.
This week, the PlayStation 4 Twitch app got a redesign which features a new look and some new features. After the app’s launch, Twitch’s senior director of product, Tom Robertson tweeted that, “If you’re an XBox user, fear not. The team is hard at work on a new one for you too. Coming soon ™.”

There’s clearly still not a set day for the new Xbox One Twitch app to roll out to users but the fact that official staff are commenting on it, and that the PlayStation 4 app is now completed, suggest that it won’t be too far away.
The Xbox One Twitch app launched with the Xbox One console on Day One and has remained mostly unchanged since then despite the occasional stability update. Besides the ability to follow and watch Twitch broadcasts on it, the Xbox One app lacks almost all of the functionality that’s now found on the Twitch website, most notably the ability to subscribe and unsubscribe to Twitch affiliates and partners.
