The Windows 10 app, 8 Zip, has just updated with added support for Microsoft’s Xbox One video game console. The app is primarily used to unpack zip files on a device but, with this update, can also be used to read digital comic books with support for Comic Book Archive file formats, .cbz and .cbr. Here’s the official app description:

Out with the old, in with the new. The powerful archiver 8 Zip has expanded its set of capabilities with the new Continuum, Cortana and Windows Hello technologies. Now one app, one license, a uniform design and functionality can be had on all types of devices. Decrypt files through an iris scan or at a touch. Listen to music, read documents, and watch videos right in the app. Share files with friends – it’s simple. 8 Zip is a cutting-edge archiver.

8 Zip is available in a free Lite version which is limited to basic unzipping functionality and a full-featured paid version which can access all of its other uses such as the previously mentioned comic book reading plus music and video playing, text document support, and added password protection security.
