It looks like Microsoft have started to roll out the Windows Phone 7 Mango “friends and family” update today. You can download the update from Windows Update via your phone. But here’s the catch, this particular update doesn’t include any Mango features!
The reason this is, is because this update is part of a series of two updates, this “friends and family” update is available to clean up any beta bits that your Windows Phone may be running, to allow your phone to update to the final release when its available.
This means that those who are on earlier builds of Mango, can update to the final versions without he need to downgrade to the last public build.
