During Nokia World 2013 today, Nokia has unveiled the Lumia 2520. This device is a 10.1-inch Windows RT 8.1 tablet that features the same great Lumia design we have come to know and love with the Lumia Windows Phones. The Lumia 2520 is set to launch later this year for $499.
The Lumia 2520 comes in a variety of colors, such as red, white in a glossy finish, cyan, and black in a matte finish. The10.1-inch 1080p display features Corning Gorilla Glass 2 with almost 180 degree viewing angles and a peak brightness of 650 nits. The device also features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset with built in high-speed LTE connectivity.
The Lumia 2520 also features a 6.7MP rear camera and a 2MP front camera. “Nokia is including ZEISS optics in the Lumia 2520 and special Nokia imaging algorithms to extend the amazing camera experience seen on its phones into their tablet,” Microsoft added in an official blog post.
Nokia also unveiled a Nokia Power Keyboard, which is a special wrap around cover that has a built-in keyboard and track pad. This accessory also offers five extra hours of battery life and two USB ports. The Lumia 2520 also comes with a few new Nokia apps, such as Nokia Storyteller, Nokia Video Director, Nokia Music, and HERE Maps.
The Lumia 2520 will be available later this year for $499 (US) and will be available initially in the US, UK, and Finland. The device will be available on AT&T and Verizon later this year. Nokia didn’t offer a timetable as to when other countries would receive the device but simply stated that “additional countries to follow.” The Power Keyboard will also be available for $149 and comes in either red or black.
