Xbox Countdown Sale offers big discounts on over 800 Xbox games

As 2020 is coming to a close, Microsoft has kicked off today a big Xbox Countdown Sale with cool discounts on over 800 Xbox games. The list includes several games released this Fall such as Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Destiny 2: Beyond Light, FIFA 21, or Immortals: Fenyx Rising.

If you have to play them, several Xbox One games that have now been enhanced for Xbox Series X|S consoles are also being discounted. This list includes Borderlands 3, Forza Horizon 4, Gears 5, Halo: MCC, Mortal Kombat 11, and Star Wars Squadrons. You can also add Control Ultimate Edition, a new bundle that includes the next-gen version of Remedy’s game coming in February 2021.

In case you’re wondering, the much-anticipated Cyberpunk 2077 isn’t being discounted despite the game being plagued by issues on consoles. The situation so bad that Sony decided to remove the game from its PlayStation Store and offer refunds to dissatisfied players, but Microsoft is apparently not doing the same on the Xbox Store.

Cyberpunk 2077 now being slightly out of the picture should give more opportunities to other blockbuster games to shine this holiday season. If you already got the chance to get an Xbox Series X or Series S consoles, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Destiny 2, or Gears 5 now look better than ever thanks to their next-gen optimizations, with the latter probably being one of the prettiest games you can play on Xbox today.

The Xbox Countdown Sale will last through January 3, and you can find the full list of deals on Major Nelson’s website. If you have yet to try Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass Ultimate game subscription service, we also remind you that you can pay just $1 for the first 3 months for a limited time.
