Microsoft’s Nick Parker showed some Windows Phone devices from Blu and other OEM partners at Computex 2014. Well, it was not just these small manufacturers. Along with them, Parker hinted at their renewed partnership with HTC, hinting at the possible launch of a new Windows Phone device from the Taiwanese OEM.
During the conference, someone asked a question related to other OEM partners, specifically HTC, and Microsoft responded by stating that they have a great relationship with the Taiwanese OEM. “I’d love to break some news here if I could. But instead I’ll just say that Microsoft will continue to have a great relationship with HTC. New things are coming, so get excited.”
Well, he may be talking about the alleged HTC W8, which is expected to hit the retail shelves in the coming months. @evleaks dropped the news about the purported handset, saying it will come with Duo cameras, as well as the BoomSound speakers. The notorious leaker has posted about the alleged handset quite a few times, and said it will hit Verizon when it launches in the US.
Parker asked the audience to get excited as new things are coming as a result of the partnership between the two companies. It would be great to see more OEMs coming on board, at least we’ll have some choices apart from the Lumia devices which are currently dominating the Windows Phone market.
