Microsoft has scheduled a Surface event on May 20th, inviting a small gathering of press to come and see what the Redmond-based company has to say. Well, we have a pretty good idea its about the long awaited Surface Mini tablet, but reports suggest its going to be an interesting event since Microsoft has some surprises planned for its users. We’ve yet to witness a leaked image of the purported Surface Mini, but there are some beautiful concept renders circulating on the internet.
The device shows different sizes and aspect ratios since the rumor mill suggests it will come with a 7 to 8-inch display, possibly with a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor under the hood. It is rumored to come with Windows RT 8.1 as its operating system, as well as a stylus support. The device will come with several covers, which can be used as a kickstand — there would be no built-in kickstand option as the bigger Surface tablet has.
The press event is less than two weeks away, and we’re hoping the Surface Mini would be able to make a dent in the tablet market. Some of us may be a little disappointed if it comes with Windows RT 8.1, rather than a full fledged Windows 8.1 OS. Let’s just wait for the event and see what the software giant has planned for its fans.
