Microsoft has scheduled an event on May 20th where the Redmond-based company expected to take the wraps off the miniature version of Surface, possibly with a stylus. Yesterday, it was rumored that Microsoft may have planned a surprise for its fans, and may launch something else, along with the alleged Surface Mini.
According to a new report from Bloomberg, Microsoft will launch new Surface models on May 20th, powered by Intel processors. Additionally, they also mentioned Surface Mini will come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, citing people familiar with the company’s plans.
“Microsoft will unveil the new device at an event in New York on May 20, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the plans aren’t public. Microsoft will also take the wraps off other new Surface models at the event, including ones powered by Intel Corp. processors, the people said. Microsoft previously had a version of Surface with Nvidia chips that use ARM Holdings Plc technology,” Bloomberg reports.
The details about the alleged Surface Mini specifications are scarce, but rumors suggest it will come with a 7 to 8-inch display and will run Windows RT 8.1 as its operating system, rather than the full-fledged Windows 8.1. So, what are your guesses? Sound off in the comments below!
