Fallout 4 will have no level cap, able to explore after single-player story completes

In the upcoming release of Fallout 4, Bethesda announced on Twitter that after you complete the single-player, you can continue to level up and explore the post-apocalyptic Commonwealth.

To our fans who’ve asked: Fallout 4 doesn’t end when the main story is over and there is no level cap. You can keep playing and leveling.

In a story from Polygon, Bethesda comments on Fallout 4’s elimination of level caps:

“This is a major departure from the previous Fallout games, all of which had level caps. And it means that the experience players earn from side quests and other activities that they do after completing the main quest line will be worthwhile.”

Fallout 4 game director Todd Howard told Game Informer at E3 that the elimination of level caps brings its own set of challenges for the gamer:

“With the elimination of level caps, Fallout 4’s enemy’s will be even tougher for the We call it rubberbanding; we’ll have an area [where enemies scale from] level 5 to 10, and then this area will be level 30 and above.”

With Fallout 3, the highest level you could get to was level  30 (provided you purchased all the DLC). It will be interesting to see what character customizations will be with no level cap at all. However, we will have to see what happens when Fallout 4 is released November 10th. Pre-order Fallout 4 now.
