Facebook for Windows Phone 8 released, Redbox and iHeartRadio apps also available

Microsoft has announced the availability of three new apps for Windows Phone 8. First, the Facebook app for Windows Phone 8 has exited Beta and is now available for download. Microsoft also announced the availability of the Redbox app and iHeartRadio app.

Microsoft recently launched a Beta program for the new Facebook app for Windows Phone 8 and the app has received a few updates along the way, with the app finally hitting gold today. For those who are unaware, the new Facebook app for Windows Phone features a major redesign and has implemented several user-requested features. Those features include support for high-res photos, post sharing, and Facebook Timeline.

Microsoft has also bumped the version number to 5.0. You can snag the final Facebook app for Windows Phone 8 from the download link below.

Redbox app

For those of you with a Redbox movie subscription, there is now an official Redbox app for your downloading pleasure. The free Redbox app is the official app for the service and lets you find the nearest Redbox location and even lets you reserve a movie or game you want. You can head over to the Redbox store and pick up that movie or game later in the day. Redbox app users can also search by new releases, genre, rating, and even watch trailers.

iHeartRadio app

One of the most popular streaming Internet radio apps out there, iHeartRadio, is now available on Windows Phone 8 via this official app. With this app, you can listen to over 1500 live radio stations across the United States and even create your own commercial-free custom stations. The new app allows you to see recommended stations, allow you to set a sleep timer so you can fall asleep to your favorite station, see album art on the phone’s lock screen, pin stations to your Start Screen, and even search across the app.
