Expansys starts selling the unlocked lumia 640 lte in the us, costs $219

Back at the Mobile World Congress 2015 in Barcelona, Microsoft introduced the Lumia 640 and Lumia 640 XL, carrying a decent set of specifications at an extremely affordable price tag. The handset is already available in several key markets across the globe, but the software giant is not officially selling the Lumia 640 in the United States. If you can’t wait for Microsoft to officially launch the handset in the country, you’re in luck as Expansys has started selling the handset in the region.

The retailer is selling the dual-SIM version of the Lumia 640, and yes, it comes with LTE connectivity — you need to check the supported LTE bands to make sure it’s supports your carrier. The handset is available in black, cyan and orange color options. As far as the pricing is concerned, the black model costs $219 while the other two color options are going to cost you slightly higher $244.

The Lumia 640 carries a 5-inch 720p display, a quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor paired with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of expandable storage. The device ships with Windows Phone 8.1 with Lumia Denim, and will be upgradeable to Windows 10 when it launches later this year.

We’re working on a review of the Lumia 640, but in the meantime, you can check out first impressions of the handset.
