The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited now available on Xbox One

The Elder Scrolls Online, the long awaited massive mulitplayer edition of the Elder Scrolls series which launched last fall on PCs, has made made its way to consoles and is now available on the Xbox One as The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited.

The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited is the Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG) edition of the award winning fantasy role playing series The Elder Scrolls, most recently known for the incredibly popular The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Notably, unlike other MMORPGs such as Blizzard’s World of Warcraft, The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited is a single purchase and does not require a monthly subscription to continue playing.

The game features open world non-linear gameplay similar to previous Elder Scrolls titles but in a massive online environment where players can, if they choose, band together to accomplish quests, form guilds, or fight each other in Player vs. Player (PvP) events. The official game description reads:

The award-winning fantasy role-playing series, The Elder Scrolls, goes online – no game subscription required. Experience this multiplayer role-playing game on your own or together with your friends, guild mates, and thousands of alliance members. Explore dangerous caves and dungeons in Skyrim, or craft quality goods to sell in the city of Daggerfall. Embark upon adventurous quests across Tamriel and engage in massive player versus player battles, or spend your days at the nearest fishing hole or reading one of many books of lore. The choices are yours in the persistent world of The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited.

The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited is now available for download on the Xbox One Store for $59.99 for the standard version.

There are also two special editions, the Imperial Edition and the Unlimited Premium Edition. The former grants access to the Imperial race when creating your character along with other Imperial related add-ons, and the latter unlocks the ability to make a character in any alliance, an exclusive pet, and bonus treasure maps to aid your open world exploration and treasure hunting. The Imperial Edition is priced at $79.99 while the Unlimited Premium Edition costs $99.99.
