Deus Ex: Mankind Divided new live-action trailer sets you in the Mechanical Apartheid

Square Enix and developer Eidos Montreal have just released a powerful live-action trailer for the upcoming cyberpunk-themed action role-playing game Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. Unlike the previous CG-based 101 trailer that has been revealed earlier this month, this one is a nearly four minutes short film that does a very good job explaining the backstory and main themes of the game franchise. Long story short, this a transhumanist dream that turned into a nightmare that writers of the game called the “mechanical apartheid”. More details in the official description below:

In 2027, mechanically-augmented people all over the world suffered from extreme psychotic delusions, lost control of themselves, and started attacking people. Millions died. Hundreds of thousands more were injured and maimed.
In the wake of this global catastrophe, society has become divided by hatred, prejudice, and fear, with many countries now enacting harsh laws. The most notable of these laws is the highly controversial “Human Restoration Act”, aimed at isolating “Augs” and keeping them away from “Naturals”.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided will be released on August 23rd, 2016 on Xbox One, PS4 and PC. As we reported earlier this week, you can already pre-order the game on the Xbox One and also get the previous opus Deus Ex: Human Revolution as well as its main DLC for free. Let us know in the comments what do you think of this new trailer.
