What is Microsoft 365 Chat?

Microsoft 365 Chat is an enhanced version of Microsoft 365 Copilot, going beyond basic inquiries and providing an extensive range of solutions. This powerful tool analyzes your complete data spectrum, including emails, meetings, chats, documents, and online sources, to effectively address intricate work challenges.

Moreover, it seamlessly integrates with the widely utilized Microsoft 365 Copilot Apps, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and others, ensuring its accessibility for millions of users on a daily basis.

Copilot in Outlook: Revolutionizing Email Management

Managing your inbox just got a whole lot easier with Copilot in Outlook. Here’s what’s new:

  1. Email Summarization: Copilot can now summarize email threads, providing key information with helpful annotations. It also suggests action items, replies, and follow-up meetings, allowing you to quickly access the source of summarized content.
  2. Sound Like Me: You can now instruct Copilot to match your unique writing style and voice when drafting an email, ensuring your messages are consistently on-brand.
  3. Teams Meeting Integration: Copilot seamlessly integrates with Teams meetings, allowing you to follow a meeting you couldn’t attend live directly from Outlook. When the meeting starts, Teams records it, and Copilot notifies you in Outlook when the recording is ready.

Copilot in Word: Enhancing the Writing Process

Microsoft Word users will find Copilot to be an indispensable tool for their writing needs:

  1. Document Summarization: Copilot can provide more in-depth bulleted summaries of documents, making it easier to share recaps or quickly catch up on content.
  2. Rewrite Assistance: Copilot can rewrite paragraphs and present you with options to choose from. You can also adjust the tone to be more neutral, casual, or professional.
  3. Refine Prompts: You can refine prompts for Copilot, asking it to make answers more concise or add specific elements to tables.
  4. Formatting Assistance: Copilot can generate tables from your copy, saving you time on formatting tasks.

Copilot in Excel: Empowering Data Analysis

Excel users can now harness Copilot for data analysis with ease:

  1. Data Analysis: Copilot helps analyze, format, and edit data, enabling you to gain deeper insights and understanding.
  2. Formula and Data Highlighting: You can quickly add formula columns, highlight key data, filter, sort data, and ask questions to uncover insights instantly.
  3. Advanced Analytics: Copilot provides access to advanced analytics, allowing you to create professional visualizations, generate forecasts, and work with Python in Excel.

Copilot in Loop: Unlocking Collaborative Potential

In Loop, Copilot facilitates shared thinking and collaboration:

  1. Collaborative Iteration: Teams can work together, co-creating prompts and reviewing earlier interactions to enhance their work.
  2. Table Generation: Copilot can quickly create tables for team projects, which can be easily shared across various Microsoft 365 apps.
  3. Catch-Up and Recap: Users can catch up on team progress by asking Copilot for summaries or inquiring about key assignments since their last visit.
  4. Code Blocks: Copilot offers code suggestions that pop up automatically based on your context, saving time for coding tasks.

Copilot in OneNote, Stream, and OneDrive: Tailored Assistance

Copilot extends its capabilities to OneNote, Stream, and OneDrive:

  1. OneNote: Gain deeper insights from your notes by asking comprehensive questions, generating summaries, and enhancing your writing with Copilot edits.
  2. Stream: Find key insights in videos by getting quick summaries with transcripts, asking open-ended questions, and locating specific discussions.
  3. OneDrive: Without opening a file, you can ask Copilot open-ended questions related to a document or get a summary of its content.

These exciting updates to Microsoft’s Copilot feature will make work more efficient and collaborative for users across various Microsoft 365 apps. Stay tuned for the official release in November.
