Control, the latest game from Quantum Break and Alan Wake developer Remedy Entertainment will be re-released on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles on February 2, 2021. Remedy announced today that Control on next-gen consoles will support a 60 FPS Performance Mode as well as a 30FPS Graphics mode with ray-tracing, and it’s good to see more and game developers giving gamers the ability to choose between better performance or graphical fidelity.
While a full trailer is coming soon, the Finnish developer shared a short 30 seconds gameplay recorded on PlayStation 5 today. Control suffered from various performance issues on consoles when it was released back in August 2019, and it looks like this next-gen version of the game should hopefully fix that.

Control was recently added to Xbox Game Pass for Console, though the game won’t support Smart Delivery on Xbox consoles. Remedy also won’t offer a free next-gen upgrade to players who already purchased the Control base game and its Season Pass on the Xbox Store.
The only way to get the next-gen version of Control for Xbox Series X|S consoles is to purchase the new Control Ultimate Edition bundle, which also includes the Xbox One version of the game and all of its DLCs. Control Ultimate Edition is currently available for $19.99 on the Xbox Store, which is still a pretty low price to pay to get an enhanced version of a game released just a year ago.
