Confirmed: BBM for Windows Phone coming this July

Blackberry released their messaging app BBM on iOS and Android a few months back. However, at the Mobile World Congress 2014 in Barcelona, the company announced that they will release the app for Windows Phone devices in the coming months.

At the BlackBerry’s earnings call & shareholders meeting today, John Chen, CEO at Blackberry, said that BBM for Windows Phone will be arriving next month. A few months back, we posted that the service will make it to Windows Phone in the second quarter – pre-loaded on select Lumia devices and it is now confirmed.

We, as Windows Phone users, are excited. Jeff Gadway, head of product and brand marketing for BBM, a few months said “The BBM team is hard at work on BBM for Windows Phone and Nokia X as well as lots of great new features for BBM that we can’t wait to tell you about.”
