At the Computex 2014 trade show in Taiwan today, mainland Chinese manufacturer Emdoor showcased a cheap tablet device featuring Windows 8.1. They’re calling the Emdoor EM-i8080.
The Emdoor EM-i8080 features quad-core 1.33GHz Intel Z3735E processor, 1 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal storage, a microSD slot for expanded storage, and a 1280×800 8-inch IPS display. It gives us the feeling that Microsoft and Intel are working on extremely affordable tablets for its consumers.
The 0.78-pound tablet is said to have a retail price of $100. This is probably one of the most cheapest Windows 8.1 device we’ve seen so far. Of course, it doesn’t have more ram or storage space, but it offers a fully functional Windows operating system.
