CES 2015: Origin announces new EOS-series laptops and its first venture into living room computing

Custom PC maker Origin has just announced new generations of its EON series of gaming laptops that still pack a punch yet manage to shave off a few pounds.

The top of the line EOS-17X comes with a 17.3” full-HD display, a desktop-class Intel Core i7 4790K quad-core CPU clicked at 4GHz, a single NVIDIA GTX 980M with 8GB of graphics memory, up to 32GB of RAM, up to 3TB of SSD (or 2TB of HDD) storage, and the expected slew of connectivity hardware and ports. Being a custom made gaming PC, buyers also have the option to choose from a number of paint schemes for the back cover too.

If a 17.3” display is too large for your liking, you could opt for the EOS-15X with a 15.6” display, all other specs are shared with its bigger sibling. Origin has done a good job in slimming down the two EON models and we can’t stress enough how much of a difference it has made. Have a look at the image below to see for yourself.
