NVIDIA has introduced a major update to the OpenClaw ecosystem with its new NemoClaw stack, aiming to address growing concerns around security and data privacy while making autonomous AI agents more reliable and easier to use. The company now focuses on building stronger safeguards as more users install AI agents that can access personal systems and perform real-world tasks.
According to NVIDIA’s official announcement, the NemoClaw stack installs Nemotron models and the new OpenShell runtime in a single command, which adds “privacy and security controls” designed to make autonomous agents more “trustworthy, scalable and accessible.” This move comes at a time when OpenClaw has seen rapid adoption, especially in China, where users widely deploy AI agents for everyday tasks.
OpenClaw actually needed a security fix
OpenClaw’s rapid growth has created real risks, as many users installed agents with deep system access without proper safeguards, which led to installation hacks and warnings from regulators. NVIDIA now steps in with infrastructure that introduces policy-based security, network controls, and privacy guardrails, giving users more control over how these agents operate.
NemoClaw installs OpenShell, which runs AI models inside an isolated sandbox to protect user data and system access. It also uses a privacy router that lets agents combine local models with cloud-based models, creating a controlled environment where agents can learn and execute tasks without exposing sensitive data.
NVIDIA says this setup provides “the missing infrastructure layer beneath claws,” which ensures agents stay productive while following strict security rules.
CEO Jensen Huang described OpenClaw as “the operating system for personal AI,” adding that this marks “the beginning of a new renaissance in software.” The company wants users to run always-on agents across local systems and cloud platforms, supported by dedicated hardware like RTX PCs and DGX systems.
With NemoClaw, NVIDIA positions itself as a key player in making autonomous AI agents safer to deploy at scale.
