Disney+ has started rolling out a new vertical video feature called Verts that changes how users discover movies and shows on mobile devices. The feature appears directly inside the app and presents short vertical clips from Disney+ content. Users can scroll through these clips and quickly find something to watch without browsing through long menus.
The update targets mobile viewers who already spend a lot of time watching short vertical videos on their phones. Disney designed the feature to feel familiar and easy to use, since users can swipe through clips just like they do on other short video platforms. When a scene catches someone’s attention, they can immediately start the full movie or show or add it to their Watchlist.
According to Disney’s press release, iPhone users in the United States will start seeing a new Verts icon in the Disney+ navigation bar. Tapping that icon opens a vertical video feed that displays scenes and moments from different titles available on the service.
Users open the feed and swipe through short clips pulled from Disney+ movies and series. The app then lets viewers jump straight into playback or save the title for later viewing. Disney says early tests showed that vertical videos increase engagement on mobile devices.
Disney treats this launch as the first step of a larger plan. The company is already exploring new storytelling formats, creator-driven content tied to Disney fandoms, and more personalized discovery experiences inside the app.
