Windows 11 Insider builds 22621.2271 and 22631.2271 released to the Beta Channel

Since there’s no real regular cadence for build releases, this Beta Channel build for Windows 11 Insiders isn’t really “late,” although we’ve come to sorta kinda expect a 10am Wednesday (Redmond time) build of some kind and that didn’t happen today.

No matter, Microsoft dropped a new set of Beta Channel builds later Wednesday afternoon, with 22621.2271 (new features off by default) and 22631.2271 (new features rolling out).

Only this time, instead of new features, we have a previously released feature being “temporarily disabled.” The changes to Windows Ink that enabled inking directly on to edit fields has been pulled “while we fix some bugs impacting the usability of this experience.”

Other than that, build 22631.2271 gets a number of fixes, including a number of fixes for File Explorer, a fix to Windows Copilot that turns the icon in the taskbar back around when using Right to Left languages, and more. Be sure to check out the Windows Insider blog post for all the details.

There is one bit of good news if you like new stuff: Windows Insiders in all channels will find a new Game Pass page in the Microsoft Store:

New Game Pass page: Explore and subscribe to PC Game Pass or Game Pass Ultimate through our new dedicated page. With the new experience, you can learn about Game Pass benefits, such as exclusive games, deals, free perks, EA Play, and more. It’s also easier to discover, jump in, and play your next favorite game, including Day One games, new games on Game Pass, Bethesda games, and more.
