No Modern Warfare III or Diablo IV on Game Pass this year, according to Activision Blizzard

As Microsoft closes in on finally completing its merger with Activision Blizzard, the latter has already made an announcement regarding a few of its biggest IPs. Specifically, the gaming giant posted on X that gamers shouldn’t expect to see Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III or Diablo IV on Game Pass this year.

In the post Activision Blizzard hinted that “we anticipate that we would begin adding games into Game Pass sometime in the course of next year.”

It’s awesome to see anticipation building for Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare® III. As we continue to work toward regulatory approval of the Microsoft deal, we’ve been getting some questions whether our upcoming and recently launched games will be available via Game Pass.

While the news might be a disappointment to some, Xbox fans are likely used to the wait at this point, with the $68 billion deal—the biggest in the history of the gaming industry—closing in on two years after it was first announced. Likely no one would have predicted what a long and winding road the acquisition process has taken.

Anyways, 2024 is looking to be a landmark year for Game Pass if and when the CMA finalizes its approval of the deal, which is expected to happen very soon.
