Alongside the tons of announcements made during Microsoft’s annual developer conference, Build 2023, the company started rolling out its Moment 3 update to users on May 24 as an optional preview update for Windows 11 22H2. This is after testing some of these features with Windows Insiders for a while.
As earlier indicated, Microsoft had outlined its intentions to bump everyone to the latest version of Windows 11, version 22H2, via a Patch Tuesday update. And as it happens, the company released the update on June 13, 2023. This means that the feature drop is now available for everyone.
The Moment 3 feature drop ships with major updates to the Widget board in Windows 11, reintroducing the second clock that most users appreciated. The update is also expanding the Live Captions feature in Windows 11 accessibility to more users. Live Captions in Windows 11 is now available in ten additional languages across 21 regions. This is the second feature drop that Microsoft is making this year, it made the first feature drop back in February. The update featured tons of new features and quality-of-life improvements, such as the injection of AI capabilities to the OS, which saw Bing Chat make its way to the Taskbar’s search box, Phone Link support for iOS, and more.
The update should be installed on your Windows 11 PC device automatically. However, if this isn’t the case, you can launch the Settings App and click on Windows Update. Next, click Check for updates and select 06-2023 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 (KB5027231) to download.
