Microsoft begin’s construction of $1 Billion data center in Wisconsin, to complete before Google’s

Microsoft has initiated constructing a $1 billion data center development in Mount Pleasant, Racine County, Wisconsin. Last year, Microsoft announced a new data center will be made in Finland.

A data center is a vital facility that safeguards an organization’s computer systems and related components, including telecommunications and storage systems. It is an essential part of the infrastructure for any organization that depends on computers to store, process, and transfer data.

Google’s significant progress on a $1 billion data center development near Phoenix was reported earlier this year. The project, which is being carried out in multiple phases, is expected to be completed by the year 2030.

Walsh Construction is building the company’s data center. Excavation is underway, and the center should be completed by 2026, with operations starting at the end of that year. It will occupy 215 acres at the intersection of 90th Street and Highway KR. The site plan was approved in late June.

Microsoft’s investment in the data center reflects its commitment to expanding its technological infrastructure. The project is expected to contribute positively to the local economy and job market. It’s interesting to note the proximity of this data center to the previous Foxconn project, which has experienced difficulties in achieving its intended goals.
