Leidos and Microsoft have formed a strategic collaboration to expedite the implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) solutions for the public sector. The partnership aims to capitalize on their respective strengths in the market to drive AI transformation for new and existing customers.

One of the immediate focuses of this collaboration is co-developing generative AI solutions that will enhance organizational efficiency, boost productivity, and facilitate cross-domain applications.

Steve Hull, Executive Vice President of Enterprise and Cyber Solutions Operation at Leidos, emphasized that the agreement would enable co-innovation using the latest cloud and AI technologies.

Leidos successfully migrated 20 critical support applications from an on-premise data center to Microsoft’s Azure Government cloud environment to support the U.S. Navy. This migration, part of Leidos’ contribution to the Department of the Navy’s Next Generation Enterprise Network (NGEN) Service Management, Integration, and Transport (SMIT) program, improved the monitoring, maintenance, and security of the Navy and Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI) without compromising security.

Speaking of collaborations meant to improve both company and users interest, last week, Google, Microsoft, and OpenAI formed the ‘Frontier Model Forum for safe generative AI development.

Both Leidos and Microsoft are committed to building a robust partner ecosystem that can identify customer challenges and collaborate responsibly and efficiently to find effective solutions.
