2023 promises to be a landmark year for Xbox in terms of AAA titles, with Hogwarts Legacy and Atomic Heart releasing this month, and later in the year the likes of Redfall, Forza Motorsport and Starfield at last releasing to the anticipation of Xbox fans everywhere.

The same holds true for indie games on Xbox in 2023, thanks in no small part to the [email protected] program. On Monday the [email protected] team hosted a special showcase event giving us a fresh look at four previously announced indie games headed to Xbox later this year. Without further ado, let’s check them out below.

Planet of Lana (Wishfully)

A planet that used to be a place of undisturbed balance between human, nature and animal has now become something else entirely. The disharmony that had been in the making for hundreds of years has finally arrived in the form of a faceless army. But this is not a story about war. This is a story about a vibrant, beautiful planet –and the journey to keep it that way. Planet of Lana is a cinematic puzzle adventure coming to Xbox & PC in Spring 2023.

The Last Case of Benedict Fox (Plot Twist)

Dive into a twisted world of secret organizations, forbidden rituals, and cold-blooded murders. Enter the consciousness of the victims to explore their memories in search for clues. Take up the last case of Benedict Fox, a self-proclaimed detective bound to his demon companion.

The game will launch on April 27th.

Everspace 2 (Rockfish Games)

EVERSPACE™ 2 is a fast-paced single-player spaceship shooter with deep exploration in space and on planets, tons of loot, RPG elements, mining, and crafting. Experience a thoughtful story, set in a vivid, handcrafted open world full of secrets, puzzles, and perils.

This game is currently playable on Game Pass in Preview. The full release will be available on April 6th.

Lightyear Frontier (FRAME BREAK AB, Amplifier Game Invest)

Start your interstellar homestead in this peaceful open-world farming adventure!
Build your sustainable exofarm, grow alien crops, and explore a new world full of mystery with up to three friends!

Release date TBA.

Wrap up

If there’s anything these showcases from the [email protected] event prove, it’s that the future looks bright for indie games on Xbox. Which of these upcoming indie titles are you excited for? Let us know down in the comments.
