Yammer updated on ios and android to make mobile team collaboration better than ever

Microsoft has rolled out an update to the Yammer apps for iOS and Android, making mobile team collaboration better than ever for those who use these two platforms. Microsoft wants to bring the best of Yammer to all your devices — regardless of what platform you use.

“In recent years, we’ve all experienced the unprecedented migration of life and work to mobile devices. We’ve also seen fast-moving, innovative teams increasingly harness the immense power of ‘open collaboration’ to achieve more with Yammer – especially on the go,” Yammer’s Carlos Bohorquez Marin stated in an official blog post.

“That’s why we’ve been focused on delivering weekly enhancements to the Yammer mobile apps for iOS and Android, including profile and group viewing/editing, improved search and notifications, integrated message translation to 25 languages, performance and reliability gains and much more,” Marin adds.

So what’s new? Yammer for iOS now works across your Apple devices. You can start collaborating with Yammer on your Mac and seamlessly continue your work on iPhone or iPad. Watch this feature in action below.

Yammer now works on Android Wear devices allowing you to take a quick glance at your wrist to read and “like” team messages. You can even reply using voice commands directly on your  Android Wear smartwatch. Microsoft has added the following new improvements:

  • Engage with your team even faster by ’liking’ posts directly from the redesigned Yammer notifications on your iOS or Android devices.
  • Notifications roll up by threads — the Yammer icon appears on all notifications, and the LED on your Android phone will flash to announce incoming notifications.
  • Multiply your impact wherever you are by sharing links, photos and more into a Yammer group directly from Safari, Chrome and other apps.

Microsoft has more planned for Yammer later this year, so stay tuned. You can snag Yammer for each of the three platforms at the via links below. Yammer for Windows Phone received and update on the 2nd of February, but no change log was provided — likely consisting of bug fixes and performance improvements since no details were given in the official announcement today.
