The recently announced Crackdown 3 has been officially delayed until spring 2018 to give the developers more time to make the game as good as it can be.
In an interview with Polygon, Microsoft Studio’s Shannon Loftis stated that delaying the title was a hard decision to make but it was a necessary one. “Crackdown 3 is a hugely ambitious game and we want to ensure we deliver the right experiences all the way through every part of the game, whether that’s campaign, co-op multiplayer or our competitive multiplayer mode, Wrecking Zone,” she said before emphasising just how much effort Microsoft is putting into the title. “Crackdown 3 is an incredibly ambitious project that pushes the technological envelope with immersive true 4K gameplay, cloud-computing competitive multiplayer and a sprawling and futuristic open world.”
Crackdown 3 has been in development for several years now but during this year’s E3 conference it was announced that it was a lock to launch alongside the upcoming Xbox One X console in November 2017. That’s now obviously no longer the case. Whenever it’s released, it will also come out on Windows 10 as an Xbox Play Anywhere title.
