Xbox

It is no secret that Microsoft’s plans for the Xbox One do not stop at mere gaming. Redmond wants to see one of its most popular platforms become an all-in-one device for the living room, and media playback is a major part of this.

To this end, the Xbox One just became a little closer with the release of the official Channel 9 app. From today, users can download the app onto their console and enjoy hours of Channel 9 content streamed direct from the web. The Channel 9 app for the Xbox One has been on its way for a while, with the Xbox 360 version being released last year.

With this release, and other services such as SlingTV widely available, there is now officially no reason to leave the couch if you own an Xbox One. To download the app, head to the Xbox Store.

Will you be downloading the Channel 9 app on your Xbox One? Let us know in the comments below.
