Xbox One July 2014 update to bring Snap Mode for Achievements and more

Microsoft has revealed a shortlist of features that will be a part of the upcoming July 2014 Xbox One system update. The company will also roll out this update in preview form for testers in the next few days.

One of the new features is the ability to place Achievements in Snap Mode. “With Achievement Snap, you can track your achievement progress in real time without ever leaving the game. You can also ‘Get Help’ on any Achievements you’re struggling with. Xbox will scan the web for you and deliver relevant tips and strategy content right to your TV,” Microsoft explained.

You will also be able to double-tap to Snap by simply double tapping the button on your controller to bring up the Snap Center. Launch Achievements or any other Snapable app without even leaving your game. If you double-tap again, you can switch between your game and the snapped app.

Microsoft is also allowing those in New Zealand, Ireland, and Austria to select voice control using the English or German voice models from other countries. You will also be able to ‘Like’ all your favorite Game DVR clips as well as activity feed items in SmartGlass.

“We’re doing some work now so that publishers will have options for great digital bundle and disc compilation offerings in the future. As we test this feature, we’ll be seeing more flexible combinations of game titles and game content,” Microsoft added.

These updates will roll out in July as part of a system update, but a preview of this update will be rolling out shortly.
