ASUS has kicked things off at Computex in style. Along with the hybrid Windows laptop, Asus unveiled the impressive Zenbook NX500 laptop as well. The laptop is said to be the first one that comes with new ASUS VisualMaster display technology, featuring a 15.6-inch UHD touchscreen display sporting 4K resolution — 3840 by 2160 pixels resolution to be exact.
“Zenbook NX500 is the first ASUS product to feature the new ASUS VisualMaster display technology, which ensures incredible detail, clarity, accuracy and vibrant lifelike color. The VisualMaster display on NX500 is a 15.6-inch IPS touchscreen, with a 4K/UHD resolution for stunningly detailed images,” says ASUS.
The laptop will be powered by Intel Core i7-4702HQ (Turbo Boost to 3.2GHz) with up to 16GB of RAM and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 850M with 2GB GDDR5 video memory, for improved performance and gaming experience as well. On the storage side, it comes with either a 512GB PCI Express SSD, or up to two SATA 3 SSDs. ASUS says, “With either a state-of-the-art 512GB PCI Express (PCIe) x4 solid-state-disk (SSD), or up to two SATA 3 SSDs (configurable as a RAID 0 array) for ultra-responsive data transfers and quick application loads, NX500 will never keep the user waiting.”
There are three USB 3.0 ports, a mini display port, card reader, HDMI output, and a 96Wh Li-Polymer battery to make sure there’s enough juice for this beast. As always, ASUS failed to mention the launch date and pricing of the Zenbook NX500 laptop, and said it will vary from country-to-country. We’ll update you as soon as it goes on sale.
