Xbox Live Games with Gold Program for August 2015 offers four free games

August will be add four free games for Xbox Live Gold members. Xbox One Xbox Live Gold members will get Metal Gear Solid V Ground Zeroes, and the open-world survival game, How to Survive Storm Warning Edition. Metal Gear Solid V Ground Zeroes will be available for the entire month of August (1-31) and offers players just a taste of the upcoming Metal Gear V The Phantom Pain set to be released on September 1st on the Xbox One. Metal Gear Solid V Ground Zeroes is set in 1975 during the Cold War era. You play as Big Boss, to quietly infiltrate a U.S. military black site in Cuba to rescue a couple of high-value captives. You need to use gadgets, stealth, and quick timing to avoid detection and complete mission goals.

How to Survive Storm Warning Edition is a slapstick take on surviving the apocalypse and will be available for free through the Games with Gold program from August 16th to September 15th. How to Survive puts you on a seemly deserted island with nothing but basic tools and your survival instinct to survive the elements all while you defend yourself against hordes of zombies. How to Survive is more about crafting unique weapons for killing zombies and having fun. How to Survive Storm Warning Edition reminds me a bit of State of Decay, without all of the seriousness.

Xbox Live Games with Gold Program for August 2015 offers four free games

For Xbox Live Gold members on the Xbox 360, two games will be available for a limited time. Metro 2033 (August 1-15) and the sequel, Metro Last Light (August 16-31) are two great survival-horror first-person shooters. Both award-winning titles, Metro 2033 and Metro Last Light, are set in the Moscow subway system decades after a nuclear holocaust. I tried Metro 2033 and Metro Last Light, but didn’t like either too much because they reminded me too much of Fallout 3.

So there you have it, those are the four games coming to the Xbox Live Games with Gold program for August 2015. If you are an Xbox Live Gold member, check out the list below and see which game you will playing for free, starting August 1st.

  • Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes ($19.99) Available August 1-31 on Xbox One
