Xbox head Phil Spencer hints that Kinect creative director, Kudo Tsunoda, will have ‘a big year’

According to a recent tweet by head of Xbox Phil Spencer, Kinect creative director Kudo Tsunoda is apparently doing great things in 2015. Spencer responded to a tweet by an Xbox fan on what Tsunoda’s next project was and responded with the vaguest answer possible: “2015 will be a big year for Kudo, he’s stepping back into the limelight.” So what project is Tsunoda working on this year? Spencer did not elaborate, but there are several possibilities.

Tsunoda could be working on Microsoft’s rumored Xbox virtual reality (VR) headset, which might be unveiled at E3 in June 2015. Development on the unnamed Xbox VR headset is allegedly so advanced that some game developers have already received Xbox VR development sets. Tsunoda could also be working on Microsoft’s Google Glass-like project, Fortaleza. Fortaleza purportedly mixes VR with augmented reality (AR). Microsoft has not released much information on its VR projects, but they have said that they have been developing VR for a long time.

Sony officially introduced its own VR device, Project Morpheus, at the Game Developers Conference in March 2014. No official launch date or pricing details have been released for Project Morpheus, nor when it will be released for the PS4. Facebook-owned Oculus Rift is also currently “deep into development” for the PC.

Let us know what you think Tsunoda’s project might be in the comments below!
