Xbox Game Pass Beta App Adds Support For Dual Screen Devices Like Surface Duo – onmsft.com

Back when Microsoft first unveiled the Surface Duo in 2019, promises were made about playing games on the dual screen device, with touch controls on one screen while the game played in the other. Now, according to Zac Bowden over at Windows Central, dual screen support for gaming on the Duo is about to come to pass.

The latest Xbox Game Pass beta app now has support for dual screen devices, and games with dedicated touch screen controls, like Minecraft Dungeons are now supported. According to Bowden:

On Surface Duo, spanning the app when a game with touch controls is running will place the game itself on the top display and the controls in the bottom display, turning the Surface Duo into a makeshift gamepad. Developers are able to tailor the on-screen controls specifically for their game, so some games might feature different touchscreen buttons or layouts.

Things appear to be heating up on the Surface Duo front, and although the Android phone has been seemingly neglected when it comes to updates and new features, that appears to be changing. If you have a Surface Duo, give the latest Game Pass beta app a try and let us know what you think!
