Microsoft revealed today that its Xbox 360 entertainment console is still the number one console for the year 2011. Microsoft also revealed some impressive statistics that show 960,000 consoles and 750,000 Kinects sold during Black Friday week.

From what Microsoft is saying, Black Friday 2011 marked the biggest sales period in Xbox history. During that seven-day sales period, the Xbox 360 sold more than 960,000 consoles in the United States and 800,000 of those were sold within a 24 hour period.

Microsoft also mentions that 750,000 Kinects were sold in the United States during Black Friday week.

Other statistics include four Xbox 360 games that were on the top ten console game title list. These four games, “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3,” “Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim,” “Assassin’s Creed: Revelations” and “Battlefield 3,” were popular Xbox 360 titles during that week.

Microsoft also states that the Xbox 360 platform reached $1.4 billion dollars in retail spending for the month of November, which includes hardware, software, and accessories. The Xbox 360 also sold 1.7 million units in November and it continues to be the number one console in the United States for the 2011 year.
