Windows Phone 7.8 update being primed as Microsoft releases updated SDK for developers

Finally, we may be getting somewhere with the Windows Phone 7.8 update! Microsoft has released an update to the Windows Phone SDK to support 7.8 features, which includes the ability for developers to add small, medium and large tiles to their apps.

The updated SDK includes an emulator with 7.8 pre-installed, this will allow developers to test their live tiles without actually needing a device. The SDK update has no new API’s for 7.8 users either.

So, Microsoft may finally be beginning to launch Windows Phone 7.8, as now developers have the chance to update their apps for the new software. What are your thoughts about this? Leave them in the comments section below!
