Windows Dev Center report enhancements help Windows Phone app developers

Earlier today, Windows Dev Center issued changes to Windows Phone app downloads and in-app products reports. Having up-to-date statistics on your Windows Phone apps is important for app developers in order to be successful. In response, Windows Dev Center improved Windows Phone download and in-app purchase reports to make the information available even faster than before. In December 2014, Microsoft released this change to Windows and is now releasing the report enhancement to the Windows Phone.

Now Windows Phone app developers will now see app purchase and in-app purchase data no more than two days after the actual transaction, and in some cases, the processing time will be even faster than that. The app download and in-app purchase reports will also load and display faster than before; even if you have a large amount of transactions, you will see reports and data export created in much less time. Report filters and export formats are united for Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone; making it easier for app developers to evaluate what apps they have available on Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone. Two of the report changes are as follows:

  • The App Downloads and In-App Download graphics date ranges are predefined (1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 12 months)
  • The App Download and In-App Download exported reports have the same format as the Windows reports

Microsoft’s aim is to listen to feedback from app developers and continue to improve Windows Dev Center reporting in order to make things easier for app developers to bring more Windows apps to the Windows Store.
