Windows 8.1 updates

A few new updates have been rolling out today as part of Microsoft’s monthly Patch Tuesday. This time around, Windows 8.1 Preview and Windows RT 8.1 Preview receive some love from the devices and services giant.

Microsoft has rolled out three new updates for Windows 8.1 Preview. (KB2871676) Update improves Adobe Flash Player video playback in Windows 8.1 Preview. “On a device that is running Windows 8.1 Preview, a Flash video sometimes quickly lightens and darkens during playback. This causes a flickering effect,” Microsoft explains. (KB2875636) Update improves online video playback in Windows 8.1 Preview. “This update includes fixes for adaptive streaming and Digital Rights Management (DRM) playback features in Windows 8.1 Preview,” Microsoft explains.

Microsoft has also rolled out the same update for Internet Explorer 11. (KB2875111) Update improves online video playback in Windows 8.1 Preview. “This update includes fixes for adaptive streaming and Digital Rights Management (DRM) playback features for Internet Explorer 11 Preview in Windows 8.1 Preview,” Microsoft explains.

Windows 8.1 Preview also received a cumulative security update for Internet Explorer 11 (KB2862772) which addressed eleven privately reported vulnerabilities in Internet Explorer. These vulnerabilities deal with Remote Code Execution.

Head over to Windows Update to snag these new updates. Let us know in the comments below if you notice any new features or improvements.
