Windows 8 app highlight: TeamViewer Touch, lets you remotely control any computer using touch – onmsft.com

In this Windows 8 app highlight post, we will go over a useful app currently available for download in the Windows Store. TeamViewer Touch, which allows you to remotely control any computer over the internet using a touch interface, is available for download in the Windows Store for both Windows 8 and Windows RT. Best of all, the app is free and is a nice alternative to the standard remote desktop application.

“Control any remote computer with TeamViewer Touch within seconds. If you want to remotely control this computer and benefit from the whole range of features please download the TeamViewer Desktop app. Whether you are providing spontaneous support for friends and family, administrating servers or working from your home office – TeamViewer lets you get the job done,” the app description reads. For those who have never used TeamViewer before, you will need to install the Desktop app on the computer you wish to control. Using TeamViewer Touch on your tablet, you can remotely connect to that computer which has TeamViewer Desktop installed. TeamViewer features the higest security standard with 256bit AES session encoding and 1024big RSA key exchange. There is also an integrated computers and contacts list. Not only is there no configuration to get going but you can also switch between multiple monitors with ease and reboot your remote computer. To grab this app for Windows 8 or Windows RT, simply hit the Win Key + Q, and search the Windows Store for TeamViewer Touch. The app is free and is 9.04MB.
