Microsoft has just released another patch for the Windows 10 October 2020 Update (20H2), which is now being tested with Insiders in the Beta and Release Preview channels. This new build 19042.546 (KB4577063) fixes an issue that prevented some device from entering Modern Standby, as well as a reliability issue in Microsoft Edge that occurs when you open multiple windows or tabs.
The Windows 10 October 2020 Update will be the second feature update for Windows 10 this year following the May 2020 Update. It’s going to be a minor release, with subtle changes for the Start Menu, Taskbar, notifications, and Alt+tab behaviour. Microsoft You can already download the update by joining the Windows Insider Beta or Release Preview channel, and Microsoft will likely continue to release new patches until the October 2020 Update starts rolling out to all users next month.
Since today’s update is cumulative, it also includes all the fixes from last week’s build 19042.541 (KB4577063), which brought a much longer list of fixes. In case you missed it, Microsoft also released a new build for Insiders in the Dev channel today, which introduces a new Storage health monitoring feature to protect user data.
