With Windows 10 having several versions and a long list of device types running across those versions, Microsoft has published the minimum requirements and which devices run on each version of Windows 10. The minimum requirements are surprisingly low in some in cases.
A few weeks ago, Microsoft made big changes in its phone strategy by restricting the quantity of phones they produce and concentrating on quality in three segments; budget, business and flagship. Judging by the recent Q4 earnings report, the change was a smart move with revenue falling even though the company sold 10 percent more Lumia smartphones in the quarter. At that earnings call, CEO Satya Nadella admitted that new Windows Phone flagships were a segment where Microsoft needed to improve.
Earlier this week, Microsoft rolled out Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview build 10166 to slow ring participants. The company also revealed that updated Messaging, Phone, and Video apps for Windows 10 Mobile would be arriving later this summer.
Rumors of new Microsoft flagship phones have been circulating for months now and it’s finally beginning to look like they’re a real thing that’s happening. Earlier this week Satya Nadella announced that official Microsoft flagship phones were on their way, and now today, highly detailed information regarding these devices have appeared — still going by the codenames Cityman and Talkman internally.
