Welcome back to our weekly “Windows 10 Mobile news recap” series where we go over the top stories of the past week in the world of Microsoft’s mobile operating system. Let’s get started.

At the start of the week, Microsoft began offering a sweet deal for those looking to purchase a Lumia 950 Windows 10 Mobile device. Microsoft was offering a free Lumia 950 (Black) with the purchase of the Lumia 950 XL, however, due to limited supply, the offer has since ended. Did any of our readers jump on the offer?

Microsoft commitment to Windows Phone (or Windows 10 Mobile as it is now called) has been questioned as of late, with numerous articles emphatically claiming Microsoft’s mobile efforts are dead. Microsoft’s Terry Myerson emailed company employees this past week reconfirming support for the company’s mobile efforts, citing value to business customers. You can read that email here.

Earlier this week, Microsoft rolled out Windows 10 Mobile build 14332 to participants of the Windows Insider program. This particular build fixes several issues that have been plaguing users since the previous build. Read more about it here.

Rumor has it Windows 10 Mobile will see a Redstone 2 update sometime in April of 2017. The same can be said about the rumored Surface Phone. According to reports, the Surface Phone will apparently be the most secure phone in the world and double as an excellent productivity device. More on that here.

Microsoft rolled out new Cumulative Updates for the Release Preview ring on Windows 10 Mobile this past week, you can read more about that here.

A new Instagram app for Windows 10 Mobile was rolled out this past week and features a whole set of new features bringing it up-to-par with the iOS and Android versions. Direct Messaging, Search/Explore, Videos and Account Switching are all here and present with this new update. There is also live tile support, again keeping you up to date with the latest on-goings from within the world of Instagram. Facebook and Messenger apps were also released for Windows 10 but are not yet available on Mobile.

If you want Double Tap to Wake on the Lumia 950, Microsoft is taking votes in the Feedback hub and if enough people want the feature, Microsoft may just implement it. So get voting!

Stay tuned for another exciting week of Windows 10 Mobile news.
