Tencent, announced some time ago, that they are dropping support for Windows. However, soon after Tencent’s announcement, new rumors of a UWP enabled apps began cropping up instead.
Now, we may potentially be seeing progress on the proposed UWP WeChat messaging app. Famed software leaker, Walking Cat, surfaced an image of a new WeChat client designed with a new UI and potentially updated running UWP development plumbing on PC.

The Walking Cat also included a link to the new WeChat app in the Windows Store. However, the listing of the app doesn’t seem to be available to download just yet. We’ll be keeping an eye on the development of this app and whether or not it becomes a public offering anytime soon.
