Earlier this week we had multiple stories covering Xioami running a ROM allowing Windows devices to be transformed into Windows 10 handsets. Now, another company may be following a similar route. ZTE’s Nubia Z9, an Android device, was seen by MyDrivers.com running Windows 10 at the WinHEC conference in China.
The Nubia Z9 is a device that has high end specs and would be more than welcomed into the Windows mobile family. The device has a 5.2 full HD display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset, an Adreno 430 GPU, 32 GB of internal storage, and 3GB of RAM. Those specs stack up well against some of the highest end Windows Phones currently available, the Lumia 930 and HTC One M8 for Windows.
The HTC One M8 for Windows is another example of an OEM having two different operating systems running on the same phone. Devices having Android and Windows variants could be a new trend after the release of Windows 10. Even with some phones with high end specifications, the Windows Phone brand has struggled to have a well-recognized flagship device. Having more OEM’s sell high end devices running Windows 10 could help Microsoft’s struggling phone sales.
