Watch Game of Thrones Season 4 episode 1 for free on Xbox

The Xbox users can enjoy the first episode of the new season of the popular drama and fantasy show Game of Thrones on their device for free. The satellite network giant wants non-HBO subscribers to watch the show as well. The episode will become available on Xbox Video starting tomorrow (April 8th) through next Monday (April 14th). Both Xbox 360 and Xbox One users will be able to watch the show.

HBO is trying to expand the show’s audience. All the previous seasons of the show are already available on HBO Go, the streaming service from HBO that lets you enjoy your favorite HBO shows, movies, and other things on demand. However, HBO Go has a tenacity to crash every once in a while. The service faced an outage during Sunday’s premiere of the returning show. Microsoft, on the other hand, is trying to capitalize on this issue by offering the premiere episode of the popular show on Xbox.

As Variety notes, not only did the show score a record viewership on TV, its illegal copies are as popular too. Are you a Game of Thrones fan? Excited to watch it on your Xbox?
