Twitter Windows 8

Its finally here. Twitter has announced the availability of the new official Twitter app for Windows 8. The app brings along with it some unique features exclusive to Windows 8, such as Live Tile support, Snap view support, and integration with the Search charm.

“Today, we are releasing Twitter for Windows 8, a new app that makes it easier than ever to share and discover content on Windows 8 devices. In addition to familiar Twitter features, including the Home, Connect, Discover, and Me tabs, this app introduces new functionality that takes advantage of unique Windows 8 features,” Twitter stated in an official blog post. The app features integration with Windows 8’s Snap view, which allows you to stream a live video while watching the real-time feed on Twitter. The app features horizontal scroll to browse pictures and stories, as well as the ability to search Twitter directly from the Windows 8 Search charm.

Overall, not too bad for a first release but Twitter really needs to add the ability to auto-refresh faster, because currently you have to hit refresh to see new tweets or just wait until the app refreshes after a certain amount of time. The app is also missing auto-correct, so be careful what you tweet! Check out the promo video about the app below and hit the download link below to grab this app for Windows 8 or Windows RT!
